Thin Buffers: How Low Storage Is Pricing Europe’s Gas Winter
Europe has entered the 2026/27 winter with less gas in storage than at any point in more than a decade. The war with Iran then cut LNG exports from Qatar, and for most of the summer the forward curve gave companies no reason to refill, so by late October storage had only reached about 75%.
